This includes stack traces, device model, OS version, app version, and anonymized device identifiers (such as installation IDs). This data is used exclusively to improve App stability and troubleshoot technical issues.
- Log information: Technical logs, including IP address, access time, App activity, etc., solely in the context of crash reporting and error monitoring.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information only for the following legitimate purposes:
2.1 Core Function Services
- Facial swap processing: Temporarily process your uploaded facial images and videos on your device to provide facial swap services.
- Algorithm optimization: Use aggregated data after anonymization to improve facial recognition and swap algorithms.
2.2 App Improvement & Stability
- Crash reporting & performance monitoring: We use Firebase Crashlytics and Sentry to collect crash reports and diagnostic information. This helps us identify bugs, fix performance issues, and enhance overall app reliability.
- User experience optimization: Analyze usage patterns to improve the App interface and features (using only anonymized, aggregated data).
- Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve technical issues using crash logs.
2.3 Legal Compliance
- Comply with applicable laws and regulations.
- Protect our legitimate rights and interests.
3. Information Storage and Retention
3.1 Storage Location
Local processing: All facial swap processing is performed locally on your device. Original images and videos are not uploaded to our servers.
Server storage: Only anonymized, aggregated usage data and crash reports (via Firebase and Sentry) may be stored on their secure servers, which may be located in the United States, Ireland, or other regions where these providers maintain infrastructure. Data transfers are protected by appropriate safeguards (e.g., Standard Contractual Clauses).
3.2 Retention Period
- User content: Original images and videos are immediately cleared from processing memory after completion.
- Processing results: Generated facial swap results are retained on your device only if you choose to save them.
- Anonymized data: Aggregated anonymized usage data is retained for up to 24 months.
- Crash reports (Firebase & Sentry): Stored for a period of up to 90 days, after which they are automatically deleted or anonymized. These reports are used solely for debugging and stability improvements.
4. Information Security Measures
4.1 Technical Protection
- End-to-end local processing: All sensitive facial swap processing is conducted on your device.
- Data encryption: Any data in transit (including crash reports to Firebase/Sentry) is protected using industry-standard encryption technologies (TLS).
- Access control: Strict restrictions on access permissions to stored data, including crash databases.
4.2 Organizational Protection
- Employee training: All relevant personnel receive privacy protection training.
- Policy enforcement: Implementation of strict privacy and security policies.
5. Third-Party Services
5.1 Crash Reporting & Performance Monitoring (Firebase Crashlytics & Sentry)
We have integrated the complete SDKs of Firebase Crashlytics (provided by Google) and Sentry (provided by Functional Software, Inc.) exclusively for the purpose of crash reporting, error monitoring, and app stability analysis. These third-party services help us identify bugs and improve app performance. They do not collect any facial images, videos, or the content you process with FaceSwap. Their data collection is limited to technical diagnostic information.
What information is collected by these services?
- Firebase Crashlytics: Crash stack traces, device model, operating system version, app version, time of crash, and a unique installation identifier (which is not linked to any personally identifiable information). It may also collect anonymized device statistics (e.g., available memory, disk space, battery level). Firebase Crashlytics does not collect any advertising IDs or personal data for marketing purposes. Firebase Privacy Policy
- Sentry: Crash reports, errors, device information (OS, hardware model), application state, breadcrumbs (user actions leading to an error), and IP address (which is anonymized by Sentry immediately upon collection). Sentry never accesses your facial images or user-uploaded content. Sentry Privacy Policy
Purpose limitation: The data collected by Firebase Crashlytics and Sentry is used solely for stability monitoring, crash diagnosis, and performance improvement of the FaceSwap app. We do not use these services for any other purpose (e.g., user profiling, targeted advertising, or analytics beyond crash reporting).
International data transfers: Both Firebase (Google Cloud) and Sentry may process data in the United States, Europe, or other regions where they operate. These transfers are protected by applicable data protection frameworks (e.g., EU Standard Contractual Clauses) to ensure an adequate level of data protection.
5.2 No Other Third-Party Analytics or Tracking
We do not integrate any analytics tools for user behavior tracking (such as Google Analytics, Mixpanel, or Amplitude). The only third-party SDKs present are Firebase Crashlytics and Sentry, both strictly limited to crash reporting and error monitoring as described above. We do not share any personal information (including facial data) with any third parties for advertising, marketing, or user tracking.
5.3 Third-Party Privacy Policies
These third-party service providers have their own privacy policies. We encourage you to review them to understand how they handle your data:
We have selected these providers because they comply with high data protection standards, and we have entered into data processing agreements (DPAs) with them where required by applicable law.
6. User Rights
Depending on applicable laws, you may have the following rights:
- Right to Access: Request information about the personal information we process.
- Right to Rectification: Correct inaccurate or incomplete personal information.
- Right to Deletion: Request deletion of your personal information under certain circumstances. For crash report data held by Firebase or Sentry, you may request that we delete any identifiable logs; however, please note that crash reports typically do not contain directly identifying information (like names or emails), and we can facilitate anonymization upon request.
- Right to Restrict Processing: Restrict our processing of your personal information under certain circumstances.
- Right to Data Portability: Obtain your personal information in a structured, commonly used format.
- Right to Object: Object to specific processing based on legitimate interests, including objecting to crash reporting (though disabling it may affect our ability to troubleshoot issues). You can stop all data collection by uninstalling the App.
To exercise these rights, please contact us (see Section 10 for contact details).
7. Children's Privacy
7.1 Age Restriction
This App is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
7.2 Parental Controls
If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us. If we discover that we have collected children's information unknowingly, we will delete it immediately.
8. International Data Transfers
We primarily operate within China but may use third-party services (Firebase and Sentry) that are located in other countries (e.g., United States, Ireland). We will ensure that any such transfers are protected by appropriate safeguards, including Standard Contractual Clauses adopted by the European Commission or equivalent data protection measures, and comply with applicable data protection laws. By using the App, you acknowledge that your crash-related data may be transferred to and processed in these countries.
